Give Us Two Weeks and You'll See Why People Can't Stop Talking About Our Jiu Jitsu Program!
What is Brazilian Jiu Jitsu?
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is the fastest growing Martial Arts in the world and the foundation of every MMA competitor’s training. It is also used daily by police and military forces around the world, proving its effectiveness as a means of self-defense in the real world!
Lineage to the Founding Father of Gracie Jiu Jitsu
All NGSP Jiu Jitsu members will be awarded rank from 3rd Degree Black Belt Jon Friedland (Founder of Neutral Ground). Jon received his rank from 8th Degree Black Belt Pedro Sauer. Professor Sauer received his rank from Rickson Gracie and the founder of Gracie Jiu Jitsu Helio Gracie. Ultimately when someone receives rank at Neutral Ground Martial Arts, its lineage comes straight from the founding father of Gracie Jiu Jitsu!
Our Jiu Jitsu curriculum rotates through ground submissions, passes, and escapes as well as take downs and transitions while on the feet. We drill technique as well as allow time to roll so members can practice what they were taught in a controlled "live" setting. A typical class includes:
•Dynamic and Sport Specific Warm Ups
•Concepts and Jiu Jitsu Drills
•One or Two Techniques
•Live or Situational Rolling
Gi vs No Gi
We offer Gi and NoGi classes. Gi classes are when members wear a Jiu Jitsu uniform and belt (Gi) to class. Certain techniques and submissions can only be taught using a gi and rank can only be given to a member with a Gi.
Shorts and a shirt or rash guard can be worn during NoGi classes. This is a faster form of grappling due to the fact that you can't grab on to your opponent.
For the first month Gi's are not mandatory in any class as we want new members to ensure the class is what they are looking for before they make any kind of financial commitment.
If you are looking for something new and exciting to change your life for the better, you need to join our Jiu Jitsu classes! Our classes are designed specifically for people of all ages, abilities, sizes, men and women!
